Masajiro Miyazawa, proprietor of a longstanding pawn shop, plans for his son Kenji to inherit the family business. However, Kenji declines the responsibility, much to Masajiro's dismay. Despite his favoritism towards Kenji, Masajiro recognizes the wisdom and capability of his daughter, Toshi. She becomes a trusted advisor to both her father and brother. However, when Toshi falls ill one day, the family faces an unexpected challenge.
